We The Fans: Lemmings vs. Cold Turkeys!
Posted Monday/March 8, 1999; 8:01 a.m. PST
It’s always one team vs. another, that’s sports, right? It was the
Falcons vs. the Vikings in a shockingly thrilling NFC Championship game.
The Broncos vs. the Jets was a good, but predictable, AFC Championship
game. The Falcons vs. the Broncos in Super Bowl XXXIII had more
plot twists than a David Lynch movie. Despite a horrendously bad
officiated regular season, "FEELING THE POWER" during the NFL’s post-season
was unbelievable! In the wake of the ended NBA lockout, the real battle is going to be
between the Lemmings and the Cold Turkeys! Fan sentiment on our favorite
sports radio station, KJR 950AM, has stretched all the way from “never
going back” to “can’t wait to see the Sonics play!” That’s the buzz
from coast to coast. Because of that, the greatest match-up during this
“unusual” NBA season will be between Fans that can resist the NBA “cold
turkey” and Fans that will simply follow the NBA right back into the
arenas like “lemmings.” The FANS REVOLUTION needs the both! Those Fans that go right back to
the arenas can help us cut ticket/concessions/merchandise prices. The
Fans that refuse to go to or watch games will help prove the impact of
empty seats. There has never been a more advantageous time in the
history of sports for the Fans to band together for empowerment as the
owners have, the players have and now even the WNBA has. Solidarity is
strength. Lemmings and Cold Turkeys ARE on the same team.
