Dear Mr. Turner -
I am a Seattle native, lived here all my life, a UW grad, have been going to Husky games for 35 years.
With respect, I am asking you to please get rid of any and all Nike-designed UW products, uniforms, logos, etc. and return the old, traditional University of Washington Huskies' logo.
I am not one of these "screamer" fans who are yelling for Coach Willingham to be fired, or ready to jump ship with every bad play, or always trying to find someone to blame. Rather, I am supportive of the team, the players, the coaches, and the program.
Having said that, obviously the "logo" is not the biggest issue facing the UW football program. However, I do believe the adoption of all this Nike-designed gear and the re-design of the Husky logo has done nothing positive for UW sports, and rather has turned off many long-time supporters such as myself. I have not purchased a single article of Husky gear since the Nike redesign.
It it difficult to articulate, but I hope I am able to convey at least some sense of how this makes fans such as myself feel. In the first place, many of us have never been able to see why the change was necessary in the first place. I'm not stupid, so I understand it most likely had something to do with money and uniforms, but common sense alone would indicate that some sort of deal could have been made that still allowed the old logo. Sure, you're going to sell a bunch of gear to young kids whose parents don't care about such things, but what about staying true to tradition, not to mention good taste?
This goes to the football uniforms as well. Please, please, please, PLEASE, PLEASE change the jersey number design back to something like the old traditional style, so that it looks like an actual football jersey and not something spit out by a computer. Do we want to look as foolish as Oregon? The numbers on UW's jerseys are horrible looking; the old ones looked great. Please make that change ASAP - by next season, hopefully.
Like I said, I know this isn't the biggest thing on your plate. But I'm not sure that you realize what this would mean to a hell of a lot of Husky fans. It would feel like some folks care about what we think, it would show that we are not going to be like so many other schools around the country that are just marketing outlets for Nike, and it would show us that you do care about tradition and links to the recent Husky past.
Thanks for listening and taking this into consideration. If you made these changes, you would gain a lot of respect from a lot of Husky fans, and make me a very happy Husky indeed!

Mr. Turner,
I am a 20 year season ticket holder. I must say that the "weasel" logo is reminiscent of a time in the early 2000's that was great in the short-term, but has left our program recovering from the state that it was in a few years ago. I am afraid that many of the old-time season ticket holders are beginning to want to give up on this program as it seems a shell of what it once was. Bringing back the old dawg will be a great step in bringing back the mantra of OLD TIME Husky Football. Thank you very much for your time!

When Ty gave his first Press Conference, he alluded to the fact it was time to return the Dawg to Montlake.
Please get rid of the Husky/Nike Swoosh. Resurrect the Husky Mascot. Ty is returning this program to its roots and is once again grounding the Team in Husky Tradition and Pride. That effort needs to trickle down to the Fans and one way to get there is to rid this School of all visible ties to the Bab’s era.

Dear Dr. Turner,
As a long time Husky follower and supporter, since 1959, when I was 9 years old, I emplore you to please get rid of that hideous rendition of a Husky Logo, which we have had for a few years. This is not our tradition. You are looking for ways to rebuild fan support and this would be a big step in the right direction.
Also, I really miss the players' names on their jerseys. I probably know and follow the players as well as anyone but still find it a little difficult to follow the game, especially with all the double numbers we tend to use. You know this as well as anyone; marketing is important.

I am in complete agreement with those barking for the return of a real Husky as the University of Washington's logo. I cannot put into words the disgust I have for the new logo. As a matter of fact, I dislike the logo so much that I have not purchased any UW clothing that includes the weasel, and I won't in the future. I am never embarrassed to be a graduate of the UW, but please give all of us alums a logo we can be proud of again.
